En verano hay un servicio de minibus : el 39
por si no queréis subir andando.

Te deja en la batería de Santiago

Una advertencia;
el POLVORIN  sólamente lo abren
si hace bueno,
así que podéis mirar desde abajo si están
puestas las sombrillitas

Our Favorite Summer Bar
In the summer, there’s no bar in Donosti like this one–the Polvorin in Monte Urgull.
You won’t find a terrace with better views in the whole of San Sebastian.

To get there, go up the stairs that are next to Akerbeltz, and you’ll see that the whole walk up is instagrammable.  😉
Though the cost of the arrival is a bit steep, a drink overlooking the sea is priceless.
In the summer there is also a minibus that runs up the hill, #39, if you don’t want to tire yourself with the walk.
It drops you at the Bateria de Santiago.

A couple of notes:  
Polvorin is only open if the weather is nice,
so be sure to check from below before climbing up–if you see the umbrellas open,
the bar is open.
We also recommend while you’re there that you go up Monte Urgull–a true Donosti treasure
